The focus of this session is how to get comfortable with your paint and palette. We can often be anxious about what colours to mix, how much water do I use, am I mixing the paint correctly. I want to help participants feel free to experiment with mixing colours and find the joy in discovering what can come from a palette.
Participants will paint a simple garden scene with a variety of flowers. I will demonstrate how to create light, contrast and the essence of gentle blooms in a garden.
This class will focus on painting flowerpots and ways to use the paint brush to create textures and highlights. I will also demonstrate techniques to create depth long with adding “greenery and flower bits” to the pots.
As a participant, you will learn how to paint a few different flowers in watercolour. These free-form blooms are a great addition to a greeting card, personal journals, or any project you would like to add a simple bloom to enhance.
This session will introduce students to easy techniques to create loose freeform florals. This is a no-stress approach to experimenting with watercolours and how enjoyable the process can be.
Connie Furgason is a Lethbridge artist who’s been teaching hand lettering for over 44 years. Specializing in calligraphy, watercolour, and mixed media, her classes are all about having fun and experimenting with your creativity.
