Greeting cards are a wonderful way to share your creativity and express your feelings. In this lesson, we will explore how to use watercolour techniques to create stunning floral designs for greeting cards. These flowers with personality make a statement, and I will show you the steps to painting the petals and centres of these boisterous blooms in this part one of a two-part session.
Using the edged brush, I will demonstrate simple techniques to paint simple outdoor landscapes. Participants will see how to approach the painting without fear of “doing it the right way” or making it look exactly like the photo. It’s about capturing the essence of the view. Great for journaling as well.
Traditionally, round brushes are the go-to when one begins painting, but the edged brush offers so many options when painting everything from florals to landscapes to abstract mark making. These brushes are one of my favourites for the majority of my artwork. I will demonstrate some of the techniques these brushes offer.
There are endless varieties of leaves to paint, and I will demonstrate some techniques with the edged brush to create leaves to add to your watercolour blooms.
Bees are such an important part of our gardens, and I will show participants how to paint these busy little creatures. I will also show some simple blooms that the bees can visit.
